Dedication Recital

11 February 2022 | 8 pm

Kola Owolabi, organ

Kola Owolabi is Professor of Organ at the University of Notre Dame. He will play a varied program of works to celebrate the installation of the new Martin Pasi organ, Op. 28. The recital includes set of spirituals for organ and the premiere of a newly commissioned work by Brenda Portman. “Aspects of Light” is inspired by the two large windows in Saint George’s Nave.

A Children’s Concert and Organ Demonstration

Saint George’s Minister of Music, Ben Keseley presents a short concert and demonstration of the organ for children and families. Come explore these pre-historic creatures as we make our way through the sounds of the organ. Donuts, juice and coffee for the adults follow.


Festival Worship with Organ Dedication

13 February 2022 | 10:30 AM

We formally dedicate the organ to the service and glory of God in this festival worship service. Joining the Saint George’s Choir are former Saint George’s musicians Stan Curtis, trumpet, and Melissa Bishop, clarinet.


20 May 2022 | 7:30 PM

Kimberly Marshall, organ

Professor of Organ at Arizona State University presents a recital entitled “Music of Conflict and Hope” which includes music on themes of renewal and ostinato. The recital is free to all.

Co-sponsored by the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
