Choral Evensong for Lent
Choral Evensong is sung by the Saint George’s Choir and Choristers including music by T. Tertius Noble and Josef Rheinberger. The Prelude begins at 3:45 pm featuring Bach’s Partita on Sei Gegrüsset. We encourage you to bring items for the Lenten Giving Drive to be brought forward during the service.

Choral Evensong & Pancake Supper
Our monthly Evensong features jazz-inspired music followed by our annual Parish Pancake Supper. We welcome guest saxophonist John Kocur, Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at George Mason University. Music includes Michael Hassell’s “Jesus Love Me.” The prelude begins at 3:45 pm and features music for saxophone and organ Dennis Bedard. Following Evensong, join us in the Parish Hall for a delicious meal of pancakes, egg & cheese casserole, sausages, bacon, and fruit salad.

Choral Evensong & Chili Cookoff
Our monthly Choral Evensong is sung by the Choristers & Saint George’s Choir followed by the Chili-Cookoff. Bring your favorite chili in a crock pot for others to sample, or just bring yourself.

Choral Evensong for Epiphany
Choral Evensong for Epiphany is offered by the Saint George’s Choir and Choristers. Music includes Mendelssohn’s splendit anthem “There shall a star” and Joanna Forbes LeStrange’s beautiful setting of the evening canticles. The prelude begins at 3:45 pm. A festive reception follows.

Festival of Christmas Lessons and Carols
The Saint George’s choirs sing a service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas in the style of King’s College. Not to be missed. Doors open at 3:30 pm with a prelude by Saint George’s Artists in Residence, the 9th Street Quartet. Admission is free and open to the public. A festive reception follows.

The Saint George’s Choirs sing a service of Choral Evensong for Advent featuring the extended anthem “The Wilderness” by Samuel Sebastian Wesley. The prelude begins at 3:45 pm with works by C.M. Widor and Brenda Portman’s “Aspects of Light” commissioned for the Saint George’s organ. A reception follows in the Parish Hall.

Halloween Kids Concert and Pumpkin Painting
Join us for our annual Halloween Kids Concert! Features fun music for the season on our Martin Pasi pipe organ, along with Pumpkin Carols and pumpkin carving. Be sure to wear your costumes!

Music includes local composer Deidre Robinson’s Steal Away, as well as music by T. Tertius Noble, John Barnard, and J.S. Bach.

The Prelude begins at 3:45 pm by guest organist Dr. John “Chappy” Stowe. A festive reception follows in the Parish Hall.

Our monthly Choral Evensong is sung by the Choristers & Saint George’s Choir. Featuring Caleb Burhan’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, along with Kurt Bestor’s Prayer for the Children, offered for the children of the world affected by war and violence.

Organ Recital: Christa Rakich
World renown organist and Visiting Professor of Organ at Oberlin, Christa Rakich, performs a recital on Pasi Opus 28. This recital is co-sponsored by the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. A free-will offering is received.

Choral Evensong & Chili Cookout
Our monthly Choral Evensong is sung by the Choristers & Saint George’s Choir followed by the return of the Chili-Cookoff. Bring your favorite chili in a crock pot for others to sample, or just bring yourself. Chilies can be dropped off in the parish hall prior to Evensong. There will be music, decorations, a canopy of cantina party lights to provide a festive atmosphere, and a piñata grand finale for children. Beverages, salads, tortilla chips and chicken nuggets for children will be provided by the Saint Georges Men’s Group. The prelude to Evensong begins at 3:45 pm.
Music includes works by Maxine Thevenot, Jessica French, and Arnold Sevier’s “Precious Lord.”

The Saint George’s Choirs sing a service of Choral Evensong for Advent featuring John Ferguson’s anthem, “O, come, O, come, Emmanuel” for choir and viola. We welcome Evelyn Harpham, violist. Music also includes works by Gary Davison and Brenda Portman. The prelude begins at 3:45 pm and features Advent chorale settings by J. S. Bach. A reception follows in the Parish Hall.

Our annual Choral Evensong for All Souls is sung by the Saint George's Choir and Choristers. We remember those who have died with a time of candle lighting and the reading of the Parish Necrolgy. A special prelude featuring music for organ and cello begins at 3:45 pm. We welcome cellist Rosanna Butterfield.

The organ prelude begins at 3:50 pm and is played by Saint George's Assistant Organist, Alfred Yoon who offers music by by Bach, Messiaen, and Gigout. Choral music includes works by Mendelssohn and Stopford. A reception follows in the Parish Hall.

Choral Evensong for Easter
We celebrate our music ministries with this month’s Choral Evensong sung by Saint George’s Choir and Choristers. A special organ prelude begins at 3:45 pm played by high school senior, Bradley McMullin, who will offer Mendelssohn’s challenging and beautiful Organ Sonata No. 1. Evensong includes Charles Stanford’s Evening Canticles in G and David Hurd’s “It is a good thing to give thanks.” A reception follows in the parish hall. Join us for this ancient and transcendent liturgy at the close of the day.

Calling all kids and kids at heart! Dress in your Halloween costume for this short 30-minute festive organ concert for kids. Get an up-close look at the organ as you hear some famous Toccatas for the organ. Be sure to wear your costume and collect your goodie bag! Free and open to all.
